Primary Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate activities of assigned work centers, ensure performance goals are met, including safety, quality and production schedules.
Anticipate, analyze and diagnose production problems to develop solutions.
Communicate and work closely with Production Control and Mfg. Eng on issues related to their support of departmental operations.
Organize and assign work, instruct, guide and otherwise assist employees in the performance of their work. Maintain conformance with Company work rules and policies. Deliver discipline when necessary; maintain close surveillance of the use of safety devices, equipment and tools; supervise departmental housekeeping and maintain constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
Approve weekly employee payroll hours, appraise employee performance, lead employee communications and meetings when necessary.

Qualifications

This position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and six to eight years of experience in related preparatory classifications.
A good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Basic Problem-Solving skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
Specialized courses or training in supervisory and administrative subjects are a plus.
