RESCAR is rapidly growing and searching for switching and track personnel to fill open positions in Chocolate Bayou, Texas.
What You'll Do:

Read and follow switching instructions/lists indicating track assignments and cars to be switched.
Operating Locomotive/Trackmobile between service tracks and switching areas
Signal locomotive/Trackmobile operators to start or stop trains when coupling or uncoupling cars, using hand signals, lanterns, or two-way radio communication
Observe signals from other crewmembers so that work activities can be coordinated
Inspect couplings, air hoses, and handbrakes to ensure that they are securely fastened and functioning properly
Inspect tracks, cars, and engines for defects, report service needs and make sure they are corrected before operation
Repair/replace heavy couplings, broken knuckles, and air brake hoses using hand tools

What You'll Need:

1-3 years working with freight car switching or similar field
Mechanical aptitude required
Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties (such as working around heavy and moving equipment), involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity, required
Ability to travel up to 20% out-of-state.
