Administration Assistant - Community & Youth (Identified)

This is a dynamic and rewarding role, as TAIHS is a unique organisation, providing a varied range of services across multiple facets of our community.
TAIHS was established in 1974. At that time, it was the fourth Aboriginal community-controlled health service (ACCHS) established in Australia. TAIHS provides comprehensive primary health services and a range of community services. TAIHS seeks to improve health and social outcomes for the community through strategic partnerships advocacy for needs, promotion of awareness and education in improved health and social practices, the promotion of knowledge and understanding of underlying issues to address the unique patient and client needs and the development of evidence-based practices.

The Position
The purpose of the position will be to contribute to the delivery of quality Family Participation Program team efficiencies through the administration of program processes and information systems. Providing administrative support to the Family Participation Program staff members and a range of essential office and administrative support activities as needed. The position is also expected to build and maintain professional relationships with staff of TAIHS, Community members and Department of Child Safety, Young People and Women.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications, experience & licenses for the role will consist of:
  • Qualification relevant to position (i.e. Certification IV)
  • Sound knowledge of basic administration skills
  • Ability to use MS Office suite
  • Competency in ARC (database)
  • Working understanding of FLDM model
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal and interpersonal when liaising with FPP client group and Departmental representatives
  • Ability to work independently as part of a professional service delivery team
  • Ability to work with a team in ways that are respectful, transparent and acknowledging of individual’s skills, abilities and capacities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and display initiative, self-motivation, time management and solution focused skills.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the relevant government statutes governing statutory child protection work (i.e. Child Protection Act 1999) and the ability to keep current of the legislative, practice and procedural changes within the system.
