About Us
The Infrastructure Directorate is the City of Stirling’s largest and most diverse Directorate, managing many of the City’s important assets and services while delivering a multi-million-dollar portfolio of projects.
This Directorate is responsible for the ongoing delivery of the City’s sustainability program, as well as contributing heavily to the City of Stirling’s vibrant local economy, liveable neighbourhoods and thriving communities.
About the Position
Our City Trees Officer is responsible for developing contracts, issuing works and coordinating audits associated with City tree pruning works, as well as associated asset management, budget control and WHS compliance. Additionally, this role will coordinate inspections and provide comments associated with development applications.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the City Trees Officer will include but are not limited to:
- Issue scheduled and reactive tree works to contractors and ensure they are delivered in line with timeframes, specifications, budgets and WHS requirements.
- Coordinate pre- and post- tree pruning audits with Tree Inspectors to align with annual powerline pruning schedule.
- Coordinate site inspections and provide comments in relation to impacts to existing trees or tree planting plans associated with development and subdivision applications.

- Certificate 3 in Arboriculture or equivalent
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite and Spatial Mapping Systems such as QGIS
- Relevant experience in management of contracts, tree data and staff
- Knowledge of contemporary tree management and tree species knowledge
- Sound understanding of occupational health and safety principles.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
