About the Position
Our Engineering Operations Business Unit is currently seeking to employ a Plant Operator to join the Engineering team on a permanent, full-time basis, taking responsibility for the operation of various plant machinery for a range of civil construction. We are looking for safety minded people who are versatile workers and are capable of working outdoors in a manual labouring role. Typical jobs completed in this role involve, roundabouts, laneways, soakwells and carpark construction, so someone with a background in construction is desirable.
A minimum HC Licence is required to transport plant equipment to and from our Operation Centre and the job site. Additional tickets/experiences with excavators, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, six-wheel tip trucks, water cart trucks, ride on rollers and/or bobcats is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
You will work across the different crews and conduct safety risk assessments, attending and contributing to pre-start meetings. Your responsibilities include;
- Minor traffic management
- Spotting works
- Provide assistance modifying drainage lids, concrete work, asphalt work, fixing drainage infrastructure.
- Operate wiper snipper, excavator, loader or if you don’t have these tickets, you will assist and work as the spotter.
- General maintenance.
- Brick/block paving works
- Asphalt patching works
- Grano path laying, and minor path construction works.

- Minimum ‘HC’ Class Driver’s Licence or willing to obtain within 6 months.
- Basic Worksite Traffic Management Accreditation (willing to train and obtain within first 6 months)
- Certificates to Operate Nominated Construction Plant (willing to train and obtain within first 6 months)
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (willing to train and obtain within first 6 months)
- Trades background is desirable.
