Director of Campus Assets, Facilities & Sustainability

As the Director of Campus Assets, Facilities & Sustainability, you will ensure the Campus assets are maintained in line with university expectations and that staff and contractors operate safely, efficiently and securely.
This role leads proactive and reactive maintenance of building and asset infrastructure, builds and leads the Campus Services Centre of Excellence in line with our carbon neutral commitments. The role also leads operational sustainability and continuous improvement as we strive to reduce gross carbon emissions across our campuses. Additionally, you will lead emergency incident response efforts and serve as a vital member of the University’s Critical Incident Management Response team.
This is a senior position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer with a five-year fixed term contract, located at our Hawthorn Campus.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Extensive experience in developing Asset Planning and Maintenance strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing facility services (such as cleaning, security), facilities maintenance (including process optimisation), and sustainability operations within a large and complex organisation.
- In-depth knowledge of facilities management best practices, including asset management, service delivery models, and maintenance planning in a sustainable manner.
- A proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation, and an action orientated, problem solving mindset.
Qualifications
Degree (and/or postgraduate) qualification in relevant field, e.g. facilities management, engineering, property management, business administration.
