About our opportunity
We have an exciting part time opportunity for a Gallery Officer to join our team at the Redcliffe Art Gallery!
As Gallery Officer, you will oversee routine gallery operations and assist with the development, promotion and delivery of exciting public programs and events…from tours, and workshops, to opening celebrations and family-friendly events - your duties will be varied and fast paced!
Reporting directly to the Gallery Leader, you will assist in developing team members’ skills by overseeing their routine tasks and identifying opportunities for their learning and growth within the industry - all whilst building upon your own leadership skills!
With this oversight, you will also ensure the gallery generates positive visitor experiences. Our galleries are destinations for experiencing, learning, and engaging and this role will welcome diverse audiences, connecting them with all that the gallery has to offer.
Other duties of the Gallery Officer will involve reviewing gallery processes and procedures and preparing information required for venue performance reporting.
Council currently has galleries located at Caboolture, Redcliffe and Strathpine. The Redcliffe Art Gallery is open to the public Tuesday - Saturday from 10am - 4pm. This position may also be asked to work at other venues and requires the successful team member to be available to work any 5 out of 7 days per week as part of the ordinary hours, as well as flexibility to work at gallery events out of ordinary hours. The current roster is Tuesday - Saturday from 9:45am - 4:15pm, alternating every second Thursday off.
About you
We are seeking a passionate and experienced candidate that understands and is familiar with the operations of a visitor-focussed cultural facility. With this, you will bring experience developing and delivering public programs and delivering high quality customer service.
As you will be overseeing team members perform their duties, it is important that you can demonstrate leadership qualities and experiences that align with our culture and values. You will bring your exceptional time management and interpersonal skills to ensure a strong focus on the provision of exceptional visitor experiences.
Successful candidates must be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) prior to employment.
