About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Disability and Complex Care team as a Health Support Officer, where you will be responsible for:
The Health Support Officer (Unlicensed Health Care Worker) staff support students with complex/invasive health care needs and/or a disability to enable access to an educational setting. Within the Access Assistant Program, Health Support Officers (HSOs) will receive training and individual competency-based assessment by registered nurses (RNs), in order to provide health support during term time within a preschool/school site.

To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to:

• Effectively communicate, written and orally, within a multidisciplinary team
• Work effectively and sensitively and to establish positive rapport with clients
• Maintain confidentiality in line with legal and policy requirements
• Understand, adhere to and apply written instructions
• Identify and manage emergency situations, using established procedures
