The Division of Infrastructure and Commercial plays a pivotal role in the strategic planning, development, and operation of the Universitys built environment and property assets. The Opportunity
As the Indigenous Engagement Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to integrate best practices in consultation, cultural learning, Designing with Country, and procurement across project lifecycles. You will engage and work alongside Indigenous communities, knowledge holders, and internal and external stakeholders, ensuring meaningful participation and fostering a deep understanding and support for Indigenous communities. Building and nurturing community partnerships is key, as these relationships contribute to positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes aligned with the Universitys strategic objectives.
Providing high-level advice and strategic support to senior leadership will be a critical part of your role, ensuring that decisions are well-informed and timely. You will also collaborate with technical service providers, such as those in environmental, heritage, planning, design, and infrastructure, ensuring that their work aligns with the Universitys strategy and project goals.
About You
You are a highly qualified professional with a postgraduate qualification or are actively working towards one in planning, communications, project management, or a related field. Your experience includes engaging with Indigenous peoples, cultures, and issues, where you have developed and implemented strategies that improve cultural practices and foster meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
Your communication skills are exceptional; you excel in writing executive-level reports and are a strong storyteller capable of conveying complex ideas while balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives across cultural contexts. You have a proven ability to build consensus in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, adept at escalating issues appropriately, collaborating on solutions, and offering thoughtful recommendations and advice.
