Northern Health is seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Integration Specialist. to join the ICT department.
About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About the Role:
The integration Specialist role is crucial within the ICT Integration team that supports ongoing integration activities in current projects and ongoing BAU activities. The role also supports the integration on call support after hours.
The Integration Specialist is responsible for working with counterparts from Health Technology Solutions (HTS) and other vendors to ensure effective and efficient system integration is accomplished through HL7 messaging and Extract / File Transfer Protocols (FTPs) / Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
The person will analyse and take part data integration activities between NH healthcare systems. This role is primarily responsible for the management and development of the integration systems from both source and to destination systems. Analysis of the source and destination systems and a view from a compliance perspective is pivotal to this position. You will ensure rigorous documentation is created and maintained throughout the interface design, development and testing processes.
The position provides an exciting opportunity for someone to enjoy problem solving and troubleshooting with a likeminded team implementing/upgrading various healthcare systems. You will need to have strong HL7 experience and understand all aspects of the clinical systems running within an acute hospital both from a business and technical point of view. You will also have the project management experience to oversee the ICT assignments and be able to manage and deliver the outcomes, as well as notifying project stakeholders of any issues, risks or concerns that may affect the project. You will be led by ICT Integration Manager, who reports to the CIO and work closely with the system owners, business users and other stakeholders to ensure that all integration activities are understood, planned, communicated and executed on time.
You will establish and maintain close working relationships with the other ICT team members, business owners of clinical applications, EMR application team, HTS and other vendors of in scope third party application systems to deliver an integration solution that meets the needs of the end users, required service levels and efficient system operation and support.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Knowledge and experience in HL7 standards.
- Experience in Integration Engine technology including Rhapsody.
- Experience and knowledge of Patient Administration Systems (PAS) and other common health care applications.
- Experience in Oracle and SQL server database development.
- A tertiary degree in Computer science or related field (equivalent)
