Loss Prevention National Operations and Investigations Manager

About the Role.
The National Operations and Investigations Manager is a newly created role that forms part of the Bunnings Loss Prevention Leadership team.
This role will identify emerging trends of loss and lead the Operations and Investigation teams who are responsible for the development, communication and implementation of Investigation, Integrity, Operational execution of strategies and tactics to minimise the risks associated with loss.
Reporting to the Head of Loss Prevention, the National Operations and Investigations Manager will ensure standards are adequate to reduce the risk across all Bunnings locations and provide oversight and support of policy and initiatives for the safety of our team and customers.
Our ideal candidate will have high level of corporate investigation, operational execution, intelligence gathering and risk management skills, alongside strong personal & physical security methodology knowledge.
What's involved.
  • Support the national organised retail crime strategy to combat evolving challenges and risks associated with criminal behaviour
  • Provide comprehensive analysis of emerging trends and criminal statistics of each area and maintain a risk matrix of each site that enables risk-based decision making by location
  • Develop the capability within Loss Prevention to enable high level, complex investigations aimed at detecting theft, fraudulent or other inappropriate behaviour in the business
  • Support the business to ensure that the best suppliers are selected based on best value and service for physical security related goods and services
  • Support in the coordination of tenders by Non-Core Procurement for reactive and preventative maintenance service agreements
  • Provide expert advice, support, coaching and mentoring to the Loss Prevention Investigations and Operations teams and Senior Operations Leadership team ensuring that coaching is provided where appropriate to key stakeholders
  • Communicate and influence all stakeholders ensuring that coaching is provided where appropriate
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members in-line with career development and progression objectives
  • Develop and deliver relevant reporting as required
  • Effective engagement with stakeholders around their understanding of loss prevention strategies
  • Ensure all internal and external investigations are conducted efficiently according to the business guidelines and to an appropriate outcome.
You’ll need:
  • Formal qualifications in business and investigations, retail operations, criminal intelligence, personal security and/or risk management
  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a similar role with strategic accountabilities for executive protection, investigations, intelligence, and/or risk management
  • Several years of experience leading high performing teams in particular leadership of leaders in remote areas, keeping team engaged and accountable
  • Strong retail operations understanding and experience
  • Ability to liaise with national and international law enforcement and intelligence agencies
  • Ability to build relationships with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to inspire and relate with all levels within an organisation
  • Able to manage large projects across multiple functions/sites and implement change effectively.
