  • Remuneration: $139,787 - $161,662; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading

Your day as a Manager, Cyber Security Program & Engagement
As a Manager, Cyber Security Program & Engagement, you will:
  • lead, manage, and influence multiple cyber security strategic initiatives while ensuring alignment with business goals
  • manage security projects, coordinate incident response and recovery efforts, and evaluate new security technologies
  • ensure that NSW Treasury adheres to cyber security and operational standards while continuously improving cyber security processes in an evolving threat environment
  • engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns regarding cyber security, provide advisory services on best practices and emerging threats, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration between different departments and external partners.

What you can bring to the role
In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT and Cyber Security or an appropriate discipline and/ or equivalent significant relevant industry experience
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex programs in cyber security or IT, with a strong emphasis on developing and executing strategic plans that align with organisational goals and objectives
  • Deep understanding of cyber security fundamentals, including threat modelling, risk management, incident response, and secure coding practices. Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS, NIST, ISM, Essential Eight, Mitre, COBIT, and ITIL
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various cyber security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, endpoint protection, and identity and access management systems
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies like Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid models, along with expertise in using project management tools such as MS Project and JIRA
  • Proven ability to lead cyber security engagements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams. Experienced in managing relationships with executives, vendors, and regulatory bodies, with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Eligibility
