Mc Grath Cancer Care Nurse - Genitourinary/Gynaecology - Full Time
Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Mc Grath Cancer Care Nurse, to join the expanding Cancer Services team.

About Northern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our five main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:
The Mc Grath Cancer Care Nurse (MCCN) works closely with all medical, nursing, allied health and administration teams to improve the quality of patient care by ensuring care is delivered in accordance with the relevant optimal care pathway, including timely scheduling of services to meet patient and service needs and reducing unnecessary delays to care and to avoiding unplanned readmissions related to care coordination.

The MCCN provides care, information, and support for people with cancer across the continuity of care pathways and multidisciplinary teams across the cancer care community within the Health Service/demographic region. The MCCN will provide collaborative clinical and supportive care for people and their families, along with the facilitation of communication across the multidisciplinary cancer care team.

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Experience and good working knowledge of the spectrum of cancer care, inclusive of health assessment, treatment pathways, referrals, and on-going facilitation of clinical and supportive cancer care
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as well as a member of the multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, conciliation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Cancer Nursing or related field.
