About the Role

• Conduct a preliminary review of the patient medical record to identify reportable deaths and ensure all deaths across Bayside Health Service meets legal reporting requirements in accordance with the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2003 (QLD) and the Coroners Act 2003 (QLD).
• Provide support and advice to clinicians in the management of deceased patients, including scene preservation for reportable deaths.
• Monitor requests for information from the Coroners Court of Queensland and liaise with staff to sensitively communicate relevant coronial information in relation to the progression of a coronial matter.
• Facilitate and deliver education to staff, providing information about legal obligations, review processes, staff roles and responsibilities pertaining to completion of death certification and other related mortality processes
