We are currently seeking applications for a Principal Advisor, Policy and Professional Development to join the Accounting and Financial Services Branch at The Department of Treasury & Finance.
Remuneration: ASO8 – Salary Range ($119,317 - 123,822 p.a.).

The Accounting and Financial Services Branch provides an advisory function to public authorities on accounting, financial management, reporting and taxation. It also leads the development and oversight of instructions under the Public Finance and Audit Act 1987, whole of government banking, DTF graduate program, departmental finance & procurement, whole of government budget system and provides support to the Lotteries Commissioner.
About the opportunity:
The Principal Advisor, Policy and Professional Development provides leadership in relation to financial management policy that applies to SA Government and professional development programs related to financial management for delivery to the department and more broadly across SA Government.
About you
To be successful you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, commerce or other relevant field.
- Strong written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills which result in effective and appropriate communication complex concepts to a broad range of people.
- Demonstrated ability to take a policy or project from inception to practical completion through all required approval stages.
- Demonstrated experience in developing capability in financial management.
- Demonstrated experience in the research, development, implementation and evaluation of policy related to financial management matters.
