The Opportunity
The Procurement Officer is responsible for providing support and customer service to our stakeholders to deliver a high level of procurement services for Council.
We are seeking a person who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and has a ‘can do’ attitude. The core duties would include, but are not limited to:
- Seeking quotations and stock ordering;
- Liasing with suppliers, sales representatives and various internal customers;
- Carrying out day to day store operation;
- Purchasing of goods and services to support council activities; and
- Maintaining and enhancing council’s supply chain engagement.

Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and competence in purchasing or stores operation.
- Demonstrated ability to organise own work and good communication with stakeholders from all backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise computer software relevant to a stores or purchasing environment.
- Be the holder of a current Class “C” Driver’s License.
- Must hold a current HRWL - forklift.

Pre-employment Screening
Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to safely and competently carry out strenuous labouring and manual handling activities. The position will require the employee to carry out physical tasks which may include manual handling, repetitive bending, kneeling, twisting and/or squatting, lifting, and working at heights.
