Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.

Job Description
-The Safety Officer – Data and Reporting is responsible to maintain the site safety and health reporting system and provide actionable site-specific analysis and insights of performance. Reporting to the Safety Superintendent – LFI, you will:

• Monitor and report on all S&H performance data, with a focus on automation of reports / dashboards for efficient communication of key information to the frontline.
• Support operational areas on the appropriate use of measures, metrics, and analytical tools to enhance safety reporting, incident investigation and incident management.
• Support and monitor access and training in the safety and health reporting system (Isometrix).
• Conduct routine and ad-hoc data analysis and reporting as required, including daily, weekly and end of month reporting.
• Conduct assurance reviews on data quality, audit management, critical control activities and action close out in Isometrix.
• Assist with incident investigation and data entry, including developing slide packs and summary reports to communicate key information to the workforce.

Qualifications

• -Formal qualification in Safety (Cert IV or higher) combined with practical experience
• Sound knowledge and application of Safety & Health practices
• An understanding of mining operations
• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures and the important role of consistently demonstrating required behaviours and championing safety values
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI desirable
