Senior Manager, Business Improvement

Are you a strategic HR leader with a passion for continuous improvement and business management? This role is crucial for driving improvement and simplification and managing compliance and risk across our People team’s processes and practices. This is a 12-month fixed term role reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO).

Responsibilities:

Lead multiple improvement engagements to transition People (HR) processes to their desired future state.
Apply improvement frameworks to drive better business outcomes, identifying and leveraging best practice People processes from other organisations.
Drive the People team operating model maturity through continuous improvement and simplification to improve the User Experience.

Support the CPO in managing, monitoring, and mitigating risks within the People department, adhering to the RBA’s risk management framework and the Bank’s risk appetite.
Ensure adherence to governance, reporting, and accountability requirements as detailed in the CPO accountability statement.
Act as the single point of contact to the Risk Management Department on People-related enterprise risks.
Draft a range of written materials, including People team policies, guidelines, status updates, and other documentation.
Support the CPO and Deputy Head of People in the daily operations of the People Department, establishing an effective operating rhythm.
Manage key business issues on behalf of the CPO, providing advice and assisting with resolution on a wide remit of policy, strategic, and organisational matters.
Foster an open and dynamic culture, enabling high levels of staff engagement and performance.
Collaborate with leaders and key stakeholders to achieve enterprise outcomes.

Capability & Experience:

Advanced experience in stakeholder management and representing the department across the Bank or similar organisations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and reduce risks and issues.
Understanding of Bank-wide and HR policies and processes, with experience providing policy advice and influencing acceptance.
Significant experience in project environments, managing resourcing, scheduling, reporting, and various project lifecycle stages.
Expert knowledge of project, change management, business analysis, and/or testing methodologies and improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean methodologies).
Deep HR expertise across a variety of functions.
Experience in leading, developing, and motivating teams, and coaching managers.
Relevant tertiary qualifications (i.e. Commerce, Business or Economics)
