Teacher Learning and Support - Glenroi Heights Public School

Position Information
Glenroi Heights Public School is situated in the city of Orange, NSW on the land of the Wiradjuri people. Our school provides an inclusive and supportive learning environment, focused on collaborative curriculum planning to meet the diverse needs of our students. The school population fluctuates between 210 and 230 students, 59% identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, 5% EAL/D students and FOEI 192. We have nine mainstream classes and five classes to support students with specific needs. Our Learning and Support team is a multidisciplinary collaborative team which provides specialist assistance to students and teachers in regular classes with additional learning and support needs.

Through ongoing evaluation, as part of the School Excellence Cycle, the school has identified key initiatives which drive whole school strategic improvement. Selection Criteria
Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (K-6) and/ or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (K-6) in regular classes.
  • Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
  • Evidence of successful high quality personalised adjustments for learning and/or wellbeing, with a collaborative focus on each phase of planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work within the learning support team and to engage stakeholders as active partners in learning.

Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
