Teaching Principal Level TP2 - Goolgowi Public School

Position Information
Goolgowi Public School is a small rural school located mid–way between Griffith and Hillston in the Shire of Carrathool in the North–West Riverina. The school currently has a current enrolment of 37 students K-6 with 8 identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school provides education for students drawn from both rural farming areas and students who live in the small village of Goolgowi across multi-stage classes.
The school has a strong focus on literacy, numeracy and sport and fosters a culture of high expectations and engagement for all. A committed staff maintain current evidence-based classroom teaching practices with a focus on improving student learning outcomes for all.
The school caters for a vibrant and hard-working community which has fostered a strong connection with the school. The school values, respect, resilience and responsibility are embedded across all aspects of school life.

Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
1, Approval to teach infants and /or primary
2, Demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections and collaboration with parents, community, staff and external agencies to strengthen a culture of productive educational partnerships to enhance learning, wellbeing, attendance and engagement for all students.
3.Proven capacity to lead, monitor and review the implementation of the school’s Strategic Improvement Plan, with an evaluative mindset and a focus on evidence informed practices to improve the learning of all students and to build the capability of all staff.
4.High-level educational leadership, demonstrating the capacity to manage the dual role of teaching principal with a comprehensive understanding of instructional and collaborative leadership styles, and the unique challenges and opportunities in small school environments, including effective management of multi-age classrooms and the implementation of personalised learning strategies.
5.Demonstrated ability to lead professional learning for staff in effectively integrating digital innovation, explicit teaching, and effective classroom practices into a school-based, student-centred curriculum, ensuring rigorous, engaging, and authentic learning experiences that improve student learning outcomes and prepare them for future challenges.


General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016.

Please refer to the information regarding the Classification Structure for Principals.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level for 2024 and also for 2025.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
