Role Mission

As the Head of SEO at Sortlist, your mission will be to spearhead our global organic growth initiatives by crafting and executing a high-impact SEO strategy that aligns with Sortlist's overarching business goals. This role requires a strategic leader who excels in driving organic visibility across multiple languages and regions while maintaining a balance between visionary thinking and hands-on technical expertise.
As Head of SEO you will lead a global team, integrating technical SEO, content strategy, and off-page optimization to maximize organic visibility across all target markets. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven decision-maker, capable of navigating complex international SEO challenges, fostering collaboration across regions, and consistently delivering measurable results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement a robust SEO strategy that aligns with Sortlist's business goals.
• Drive significant organic growth across all regions and ensure a cohesive global approach.

Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of SEO specialists.
• Ensure high performance and continuous development of team members' skills.

Global & Local Synergy:

• Balance global SEO objectives with local market nuances.
• Ensure that strategies are effectively adapted and executed in each target country.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, Content teams to integrate SEO best practices.
• Work closely with our paid teams to leverage synergies across our search channels.
• Drive collaboration across departments to ensure SEO is embedded in all digital initiatives.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

• Utilize advanced SEO tools and analytics to monitor performance and identify opportunities.
• Make informed decisions that drive organic growth based on data and trends.

Innovation & Trends:

• Stay ahead of the latest SEO trends and algorithm updates.
• Continuously refine strategies to maintain Sortlist's competitive edge in search rankings.

Your Profile

• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in SEO, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Technical SEO: Deep understanding of site architecture, crawlability, page speed, mobile optimization, and handling technical audits.
• Content Strategy: Expertise in keyword research, content creation, optimization, and localizing content for different regions.
• Off-Page SEO: Strong experience in building high-quality backlinks, managing outreach, and tailoring off-page strategies to local markets.
• Analytics: Proficiency in using SEO tools (GA4, GSC, Ahrefs) and a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
• AI & Automation: Knowledge of how AI and machine learning can enhance SEO strategies (e.g., content creation, optimization, predictive analytics).
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Adaptability: Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the flexibility to adjust strategies to shifting market conditions.
• Languages: Fluent in English and French.

The Ideal Candidate Has

• A proven track record of leading SEO efforts at a global level, preferably within a tech marketplace, digital platform, or an agency managing large, complex accounts.
• Experience managing international SEO teams, delivering results, and collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
• A balance of strategic vision and hands-on expertise, with the ability to adapt strategies to fit Sortlist's unique needs and market challenges.
