We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Security Engineer to join our team in the Brussels Office.
Main Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Fortinet and CISCO firewall systems, including content inspection, firewall statistics, and related security tools.
• Monitor and secure network infrastructure using Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) such as Fire Power Threat Defense (FTD).
• Implement and manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), dial-in systems, and authentication/encryption protocols.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL methodologies for change management, incident management, configuration management, and availability management.
• Utilize network management and debugging tools to oversee and maintain network security and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to wide area protocols (e.g., ISDN, ADSL) and proxy servers.
• Apply knowledge of network protocols and security standards to safeguard organizational assets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the protection of Security Classified Information (SCI), adhering to CLIMB and Serco Essential Security training guidelines.
• Maintain and update firewall configurations and network security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and breaches.
• Provide expert support for operating systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux) in a secure network environment.
• Continuously assess and improve network security posture by applying knowledge of application layer XML filters.
• Communicate effectively in English or French (both written and spoken) with internal and external stakeholders.

Successful Candidate Education and Certifications

• Higher education in Computer Science, electronics, telecommunications or relevant subject
• CCNA Cyber Ops
• CCT Routing & Switching
• Other Certification in technology related domain

Languages, Protocols, Standards and methodologies

• Excellent knowledge of network protocols
• Excellent knowledge of network security
• ITIL (change management, incident management, configuration management, availability management)
• Wide area protocols (ISDN, ADSL, etc.)

Technical Environment, Tools and Products

• Excellent knowledge of administration of Fortinet firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
• Excellent knowledge of administration of CISCO firewall systems, content inspection, firewall statistics and related security tools.
• Excellent knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows and Linux)
• Very good knowledge of network management, monitoring and debugging tools
• Good knowledge of PKI infrastructure
• Good knowledge of dial-in systems with authentication and encryption
• Good knowledge of Intrusion Detection Systems: Fire Power Treat Defense (FTD)
• Good knowledge of proxy servers
• Basic knowledge of application layer XML filters.

Linguistic Skills

• Written and oral English or French
• Written and oral English (if French chosen above) or French (if English chosen above)

Additional Profile Relevant Elements

• Certified in Security Classified Information Mandatory Briefing (CLIMB) or will obtain it within 12 months
• Certified in Serco Essential Security training or will obtain it within 12 months and complete the annual refresh.
