Eligibility to work in Canada:
All applicants who receive an offer of employment must be eligible to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions on their start date. Proof of eligibility shall be in the form of a Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian citizenship certificate, Canadian certificate of permanent residence, Canadian open work permit or receipt from Immigration Canada of an application for a post-graduate work permit.
Proof of eligibility must be current and valid (not expired, cancelled or voided). Proof of eligibility will be required if an offer of employment is made. Failure to provide proof of eligibility at least six (6) weeks prior to the start date may result in the offer of employment being rescinded.

What role you will play in our team
Are you motivated to join Imperial as an Engineering Student? If you are passionate about safety, building positive relationships, and working within a strong team environment, then we have the role for you! We currently have an opportunity within our Kearl Operations Technical team.
What you will do
- Technical site support for day-to-day unit issues, opportunities identification, and short-term engineering initiatives
- Support facilities surveillance, unit troubleshooting, optimization
- Day-to-day investigation and alleviation of unit constraints
- Provide technical support for production downtime or process safety events
- Design, specify, deploy, and sustain facilities designs leveraging MOC processes and Kearl’s design practices/tools
- Support plant turnaround and outage scope, respond to RFIs and provide alternate solutions
- Collaborate with key Business Team stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and Technical)
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Enrolled in at least 3rd year of mechanical, chemical, industrial, or similar engineering undergraduate university program
- Occasional trips the Kearl Mine Site, including overnight stays in camp, will be required
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Able to work individually, as well as in a team situation, with minimal supervision
