What role you will play in our team

Are you motivated to join Imperial as an Engineering Student? If you are passionate about safety, building positive relationships, and working within a strong team environment, then we have the role for you! We currently have an opportunity within our Kearl Operations Technical team.

What you will do

Technical site support for day-to-day unit issues, opportunities identification, and short-term engineering initiatives
Support facilities surveillance, unit troubleshooting, optimization
Day-to-day investigation and alleviation of unit constraints
Provide technical support for production downtime or process safety events
Design, specify, deploy, and sustain facilities designs leveraging MOC processes and Kearl’s design practices/tools
Support plant turnaround and outage scope, respond to RFIs and provide alternate solutions
Collaborate with key Business Team stakeholders (Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and Technical)

About you

Skills and Qualifications

Enrolled in at least 3rd year of mechanical, chemical, industrial, or similar engineering undergraduate university program
Occasional trips the Kearl Mine Site, including overnight stays in camp, will be required

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Able to work individually, as well as in a team situation, with minimal supervision

Start date: January ,2025

Location: Calgary, AB

Work term: 8,12,16 Months
