Our client in Edmonton is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Administrator to join their finance team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, with at least 3 years of experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Great Plains. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain employee payroll records, including tax withholding, deductions, and benefits.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
Prepare and submit payroll reports and tax filings as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll and employee data.
Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
Provide training and support to junior payroll staff as needed.
Ad-hoc duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, v-lookups).
Experience with Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP) is required.
Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Available to start immediately.
