Organization Overview
RISEC Community Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the successful transition of newcomers in Canada, providing them with the resources, guidance, and support they need for settlement, education, and career success. Our goal is to foster a welcoming and inclusive community for all newcomers.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Volunteer Administration Assistant to support our daily operations. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth functioning of our office and assisting our team in delivering impactful programs to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including answering phones, responding to emails, and handling correspondence.
- Office Organization: Maintain an organized and efficient office environment, including filing documents, managing office supplies, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Scheduling: Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating appointments, and managing calendars for team members.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter and update data in our systems, including volunteer records, program information, and donor databases.
- Communication: Serve as a point of contact for volunteers, community members, and other stakeholders, providing information and assistance as needed.
- Event Support: Assist in the planning and execution of events, including preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and providing on-site support.
- Document Preparation: Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations as required.
- Project Assistance: Support various projects within the organization, contributing to their successful completion.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain an organized workspace.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry, document preparation, and general administrative tasks.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Office Software: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point) and basic knowledge of office equipment (printers, copiers, etc.).
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with team members, volunteers, and external partners.
- Flexibility: Willingness to take on a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
● Gain experience in a leadership role within a non-profit organization.
● Contribute to a meaningful cause and make a positive impact in the community.
● Develop skills in team coordination;
● Build a network with like-minded individuals and professionals in the sector.
● Gain valuable experience in content and magazine editing within the non-profit sector.
● Potential for future employment with RISEC Community Foundation.
● The volunteer’s name will be credited to our website and social media community. This can be an advantage when applying for future careers.
