Account Manager, Commercial

Job Description:
1. Job Purpose:
  • The primary function of this role is to develop and implement the sales activities of PU Elastomers business in East &North China so as to realize the mid and long-term growth objectives of the PU Elastomers business in China and also in line with strategy of global Elastomers.
2. Principal Accountabilities:
EHS
  • Ensure business activities are in full compliance with Company policy, EHS standards and local regulations.
Sales development Orientation
  • Business acumen, CM and business growth-oriented mindset and related activities
  • Be precise in giving the sales forecast for accounts in charging area
  • Focus on MMDI system sales in elastomer application, proactively identify
sizable/attractive market segments and opportunities with landing possibilities
Strategic Tasks and Implementation
  • Identify valued accounts and develop key project profiles with solid achieve plan.
  • Implement the sales and marketing activities per agreed
  • Establish strong customer relationships, further enhance distributor management
Product / Business Development
  • Scout for new business opportunities in the respective sales areas / key accounts and develop practicable business plan
  • Proactively work together with cross functional team to create a harmonious working atmosphere, ideally know how to raise request over new product development via TS or TI /OC via marketing
Market Intelligence
  • Systematically collect, monitor and consolidate market intelligence, competitor behavior, demand situation of key accounts etc.,
Customer Management
  • Be the first customer contact to (key) accounts, frequently meet with customers
  • Develop a profound understanding of the customers (e.g. business model and organization, roles and responsibilities, decision makers, influencers) as well as business / market drivers; accordingly translate this knowledge into profitable sales activities
  • Conduct field visits, seminars, presentation and attend to customers’ inquiries.
  • Attend to customers' enquiries / complaints by coordinating customers and Huntsman technical team on technical issues
  • Provide prompt response related to quality, technical applications, inquiries, and other related issues; conduct customers’ assessments and analysis
Credit Management
  • Monitor the growth of the customers’ business, review and coordinate with credit control to make appropriate credit recommendations
  • Follow-up on payment collections and ensure on-time payment from the customers and achieve zero bad debts

4. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Needed:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, or Material science related.
Experiences:
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience on Chemical Business, in MNC is a plus.
  • Familiar with PU system knowledge or proved to be a quick learner.
  • Proven track record of successful business growth, strong capability of “valued” (CM priority) biz. development.
  • PU elastomer application sales experience is a plus.
Skill:
  • In-depth knowledge of polymer or material science, PU relevant knowledge is a plus. Technical know-how and applications.
  • Mandarin and excellent oral/written English skills are necessary.
  • Basic computer skills like Word/PPT/Excel is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix organization and business team environment.
