Department Overview:

ADM Greater China CD&D Department will cooperate with cross functional innovation platform teams to create innovative concepts, develop high quality products including flavors, flavor systems and fruit jams, and provide turnkey solutions to customers in application in food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries by using specialized ingredients and nutritional ingredients to achieve business goal.

Job Purpose:

• Lead and develop Greater China flavour creation team to implement growth plan;
• Develop flavour creation capability in Shanghai and Beijing creation team to achieve faster growth in strategic segments;
• Manage flavour creation project pipeline, lead team to active coordinate with other functions to meet market and customer’s demands;
• Drive and develop innovation in flavour creation;
• Manage and provide Flavour Technical Training to CD&D team, GTM team and customer;
• Coordinate to provide technical support to GTM team and customer;
• Lead creation team to support production with flavour scale-up;
• Active communicate with global and regional CD&D team;
• Drive and strength creation innovation capability in Greater China.

Your Responsibilities
Management function:

• Develop and manage Greater China Flavour Creation Team;
• Manage flavour creation labs in Shanghai and Beijing.;
• Manage flavour creation project pipeline;
• Coordinate with PD&A, marketing and sales team to customer visit.

Flavor Creation function:

• Flavour creation from scratch:

• Multiple flavour delivery system capability (Citrus Washes, Flavour Emulsion, Spray-dry…)
• Both hands-on and flavour formula development skill-set is necessary

• Match flavours from both target reference flavour or market products (applications sample);
• Localize flavours for China Library/Portfolio & China taste;
• Improve and build up flavours in China Portfolio with strategic focus: citrus, modulation, dairy, etc;
• Effectively support scale-up of lab flavour samples into production level;
• Attend customer visits, provide technical support, give product demos, improve customer intimacy;
• Lead creation team to turn customer projects/opportunities into new business wins, increase sales revenue of Nutrition China;
• Provide training and develop capability to China Creation Team;
• Keep abreast knowledge for China market: new market trends, regulatory issues, customer base, consumer-preferred profiles, etc;
• Serve as flavour expert representing China Flavour Creation Team.

Your Profile

• Master degree, preferably Food Science or F&F or Chemistry major.
• More than 15 years holding flavourist position and solid technical team management experience;
• Solid flavour industry knowledge, flavour creation skills and experiences, well recognized by industry;
• Develop flavours independently; strong focus in food & beverage;
• Strong customer intimacy experience, capable to provide technical support on regular basis;
• Provide customer presentations of flavours and finished products with effective communication;
• Knowledge of various applications in food & beverage segments; have broad knowledge of general flavour manufacturing/processing;
• Good record of flavour business wins; full-working flavour raw material knowledge;
• Very good communication skills in Chinese and English;
• International working, training or education experience is plus.
• Fluent in English & Mandarin
