Position Overview:
- Leads business team within given therapeutic area, responsible for both planning and executing strategy and tactics, aiming to achieve annual budget targets, and responsible for allocating given resources.
- Partners with a broad cross-functional team inside and outside the country, enabling all functions to align and perform toward common strategic priorities.
- Manages relationships with top customers and opinion leaders, ensuring the building of a strong brand and recognition as a partner and contributor to the development of the healthcare system.
Primary Activities
People Management
- Manages a team of account and patient journey managers, ensuring understanding of shared goals and priorities, company strategy, expected behaviours and ways of working.
- Completes assessments of developmental needs for their direct reports and secures the relevant learning opportunities for all direct/indirect reports in line with business needs, developmental needs and career goals
- Allocates time for double visits for field employees to get a better understanding of their performance and help them to develop through performing coaching sessions and business plan discussions.
- Leads cross-functional collaboration within and outside the team; recognizes best practices and fuels discussion on including them in brand and franchise planning.
- Leads, motivates, rewards and recognizes team members at regular intervals.
- Enforce strict compliance in stakeholder engagements, documentation and interactions.
Customers and Account Management
- Has an excellent overview of the healthcare system in the Czech Republic; understands the landscape, current global trends and developments within the therapeutic area; can point out global Centres of Excellence and leaders in the field of science.
- Understands the patient’s and customer’s journey within the therapeutic area; uses this knowledge to drive efforts aiming to archetype key and top accounts and adjust the approach to the specific situation.
- Oversees the segmentation and targeting process, understanding the source of business and mapping the potential within a given therapeutic area to allocate resources properly.
- Navigates between prescribers and hospital management / key decision makers, understanding their priorities and discovering their needs; guides the team in developing account and customer engagement plans.
- Builds and sustains relationships with key external stakeholders, customers, and scientific leaders by demonstrating expertise, competence and trustworthiness; cultivates an extensive network; applies knowledge of processes, interrelationships, and the industry to work collaboratively
- Design, develop and roll out solutions addressing customers' and patients’ needs, leveraging account knowledge and cross-functional team experience; drives innovative approach and can partner with customers to maximize treatment outcomes. Coordinates resources across our company to support collaboration goals.
Business Management
- Understands market dynamics, competitive landscape and franchise performance to shape strategic and tactical plans.
- Follow local trends in healthcare legislation, including the distribution of medicinal products; navigate through the political environment and explain the system's complexity to regional stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of medical concepts and products to interpret and discuss medical literature and educational material with external customers.
- Lead cross-functional team in creating local translation of global/regional franchise/brand strategy; champion new product launches and guide the team on launch excellence process.
- Works closely with the local pricing and market access team to communicate value appropriately, drive access, and support patient care.
- Oversee creation of tactical plans; oversee allocation of promo budget; translate company objective to team priorities.
- Represents our company in discussions and negotiations with hospital stakeholders; partner with the Commercial Channels Lead to introduce the commercial strategy for a given franchise.
- Ensures timely and complete documentation for all promotional and non-promotional activities and secures compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations.
Education & Experience:
- 3 years+ experience in the pharmaceutical/related industry with adequate experience working in a customer-facing role required
- At least 2+ years in people management required
- Degree in Business (Sales/Marketing) or relevant subject or fields (e.g. medicine/pharmacy/engineering/research/other sciences) required
- Strong knowledge of customer/business strategy
- Understanding of local healthcare and reimbursement systems
- English Language required
- Experience in Marketing required
