The IT, Security & Data Risk team at Danske Bank is a crucial component of the second line of defense (2Lo D) function, committed to ensuring robust IT and security risk management across the organization. As part of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) unit within Group Risk Management (GRM), our team aims for alignment and consistency across risk frameworks and policies.
We collaborate closely with various stakeholders including technology operations, business units, security, privacy, and compliance risk, and legal teams. This collaboration ensures a unified approach to managing both internal and external risks in a dynamic financial landscape. Our team’s efforts are pivotal in maintaining the bank’s integrity, establishing a strong risk culture, and securing Danske Bank’s position as the customers’ preferred financial partner. By working together, we aim to meet customer expectations, fulfil regulatory requirements, and uphold the highest standards of security and risk management.
In this key role as a Chief IT & Security Risk Specialist, you will be immersed in the monitoring and oversight of IT and security risks, particularly focusing on our AWS and Azure environments. Your daily tasks include leading the design and implementation of cloud technology controls, ensuring the operational effectiveness of security measures, and actively engaging with various stakeholders to promote and integrate a risk-aware culture across the organization. Additionally, you will provide guidance and support in IT & Security risk management, contributing to the strategic alignment and consistency within our risk frameworks.

You will:
- Lead and coordinate Cloud technology and operational design, implementation, and operational effectiveness of key IT & Security controls
- Oversee the security of our AWS and Azure environments, leveraging tools such as AWS Manager and Azure Purview
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to promote a culture of risk awareness and compliance
- Understand and provide guidance within IT & Security risk management
- Collaborate closely with technology operations, business units, security, privacy, compliance risk, and legal teams
- Challenge the set-up and ensure continuous improvements in our risk management practices, with a focus on non-financial risk and IT & Security management
About you:
As a prospective Chief IT & Security Risk Specialist at Danske Bank, you should possess a comprehensive educational background in technology along with deep experience in IT & Security Risk Management. Your ability to understand and apply regulatory frameworks, along with your proficiency in managing cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, is crucial. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential to facilitate interactions across various departments and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and compliance throughout the organization. Key requirements include:
As a prospective Chief IT & Security Risk Specialist at Danske Bank, you should possess a comprehensive educational background in technology along with deep experience in IT & Security Risk Management. Your ability to understand and apply regulatory frameworks, along with your proficiency in managing cloud environments such as AWS and Azure, is crucial. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential to facilitate interactions across various departments and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and compliance throughout the organization. Key requirements include:
- A relevant university degree or equivalent in technology-related fields
- Experience in principles within IT & Security Risk Management
- Proven experience with AWS Manager and Azure Purview
- At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role, or alternatively, in a relevant role that provides you with a solid understanding and insights
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks such as DORA, EBA Guidelines, Executive Order on Management and Control of Banks, ISF Standard of Good Practice for Information Security, and COBIT
- Advanced English skills, both spoken and written
- Relevant certifications are a benefit, such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP
