Internship with the Institutional Donor Unit
Copenhagen
October 28, 2024
Who are we?
Most of DRC’s resources to help support conflict and displacement affected persons come from institutional donors such as the European Commission, UN agencies, and bilateral humanitarian and development funding envelopes from major donor countries. The Institutional Donor Unit (IDU) ensures that DRC takes a rigorous approach to address our donors and keeps abreast of new funding opportunities. The IDU is working to increase DRC’s capacity to expand, deepen, and strengthen partnerships and fundraising activities with institutional donors.
About the internship
The IDU intern will be a part of a dynamic team spread across DRC HQ, DRC representations and DRC Ukraine. Further, there will be close collaboration with the DRC Regional Business Development colleagues and across HQ departments. The intern will support the team in researching donor trends and enhancing the internal communication of donor priorities, trends and news across DRC HQ, Representations and 41 country operations. The tasks include but are not limited to:
- Creating a new format for donor monthly updates and supporting the roll out of the monthly updates.
- Scoping of new funding opportunities.
- Coordinating the development of new business development tools.
- Developing structures of workspaces and Insite pages on the DRC intranet (Insite).
- Researching thematic trends across donors.
- Supporting with reporting and other donor deliverables, including reviewing, summarizing and consolidating inputs for reports.
- Helping to organise meetings and appointments as well as produce and distribute minutes of meetings.
- Providing inputs and supporting the development of external products such as presentations.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to be flexible, eager to learn and proactive. All employees and interns at DRC should master DRC's core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity. The intern should be able to meet the following requirements:

- Interest in learning more about working in an international NGO.
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English.
