Do you want to work on exciting major infrastructure projects across COWI? Are you excited about interface coordination, the complexities related to existing utilities, or about collaborating with relevant authorities and utility owners? Then, this is your chance of bringing your competencies into play in one of Denmark’s biggest consulting engineering companies!
Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
Within COWI's Utility and Construction Management discipline, you will be working alongside 140 colleagues in the Transportation East department. As part of the utility coordination team, you will join a diverse group of professionals who contribute to COWI's balanced social culture and provide opportunities for both personal and professional growth. As a utility coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting exciting projects across COWI. These projects include the upgrade of the Kalundborg Motorway, the development of Copenhagen's new metro line, and various projects for Novo Nordisk, among many others.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Investigating project impacts on existing utilities and coordinate with the internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with legal experts, designers, landscape architects, and others in the development of utility protocol agreements.
- Maintaining contact with clients, authorities, utility owners, and contractors in connection with the coordination of utility placement and relocation in infrastructure projects.
- Providing input for utility handling and relocations in tender and bid documents.
- Preparing utility protocols based on technical agreements with the utility owners.
- Planning and coordinating construction-related tasks related to utility coordination.
Thriving in this job requires that you are curious and open-minded to develop solution-based agreements and structured and responsible to be able to deliver complex assignments. We also trust you can work independently but are also eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether colleagues, clients or external stakeholders. You should have a solid understanding of some of the many aspects of utility coordination which vary from design of in-ground cables, drainage systems and other utilities, to earthworks and geotechnical, to construction management and tender writing.
Above all, that you are enthusiastic about your job!
On top of that, you will have:
- An engineering degree in civil, construction, building or equivalent built environment background.
- A minimum experience of 5-10 years working in an engineering consultancy, applicable government or utility sector, or in a construction firm handling utilities on a regular basis.
- Experience with utility coordination or an understanding of the complexity of what is under the ground.
- Experience collaborating with people to gain a strong overview and reach solutions to complex problems
- Proficiency in the usage of Civil 3D, Micro Station, or GIS programs will be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in both Danish and English are desirable.
