Ambu A/S is currently looking for a Senior Software Product Owner to join our Software & Electronics team in Global R&D based in Ballerup, Denmark.

In this role, you will be a key player in driving the success of our software releases on our Endoscopy Systems in the market by collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders, being involved within software development test activities and take part in these being initiated and executed efficiently.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Software & Electronics, you will join a Software & Electronics team of 60, consisting of Project Managers, Systems Engineers, UX Researchers and UI designers, SW and Algorithm developers and SW tester and Electronics engineers. Further, you will be a part of a global team based across our Innovation sites in Ballerup, Denmark, Augsburg, Germany and Penang, Malaysia.

Key responsibilities

Two days will most likely not look the same, however, you will be heavily involved within software activities for the Endoscopy Systems including: ideas intake, defining feature priority, assessing possible solutions together with the SW teams and SW testers, and provide regular updates to stakeholders until software deployment.

Furthermore, your role will include:

Maximize the value delivered by the SW teams by ensuring that the SW roadmap and team backlog is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs in cooperation with Marketing.
Take part in consistently delivering complex, high-quality software solutions for our Endoscopy Systems that supports the full Endoscopy Solution delivered to our customers.
Work closely with marketing, UX researchers and our solution departments to drive the SW roadmap and participate in the evaluation board processing incoming SW ideas.
Drive prioritization and execution of the backlog together with the SW team managers, SW team members, SW testers and the SW project managers.
Assist in alignment of SW projects with the Endoscopy Systems projects and Endoscope projects together with the SW project managers and program manager and ensure SW support to enable projects to move forward.
Ensure a healthy balance between SW features and maintenance.
Be part of the Software & Electronics Team where you will share and support on best practice and lessons learned.

Suggested candidate profile

Skills and experiences can be earned in many different ways, and we understand that the best fit for the role cannot be prescribed on paper. You are however likely to succeed in this position if you:

A technical background within software, preferably with a degree in Software Engineering.
A technical flair and interest in technical products and solutions.
Previous experience as a Software Product Owner or similar role in an industry developing electronic products containing SW - could be medical industry or similar regulated industries.
An understanding or interest in medical device regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations, IEC 62304)
A good understanding of customer value creation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Experience with electronic products containing SW ex. embedded systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders.
Can communicate on a high level in English, both spoken and written.

Furthermore, you are an excellent collaborator and able to positively engage with colleagues across departments and in different working time zone. You should expect 15-20 travel days per year.
