Are you an experienced Technical Manager looking for a new opportunity in the flavor and fragrance industry?
Givaudan, a global leader in the field, is hiring for the position of Technical Manager to join our dynamic Flavours Creation and Application team.
As the Technical Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation of our C&A technical strategy. You will help guide our effectiveness by facilitating knowledge sharing among all departments. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the success of our team and the achievement of our goals.
This position is based in Cairo, Egypt, offering a vibrant and diverse work environment. You will report directly to the Commercial Director North Africa & Levant.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the performance of a team (no more than 4-6 members) within the Segment Group, Creation Group, and Country Technical team to complete technical goals and exceed goals.
- Be the main technical contact at selected key accounts, developing relationships with customers to better accomplish project requirements and leading customer visits and product presentations.
- Be a technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavor creation, application, sensory, and customers for multiple applications and creations.
- Provide direction from the local applications and creation standpoint to develop Science and Technology strategies.
- Be a local champion for new technologies, staying up-to-date with industry advancements and implementing them.
- Manage lab/pilot plant equipment needs within the allocated budget to improve the technical projects.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive environment, using differences in styles, thinking, and approaches.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related area. A Master's or Ph.D. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related area is preferred.
- Fluency in English
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in a food applications lab, flavorist lab, production, or related area for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a food applications lab, flavorist lab, production, or related area for candidates with a Master's Degree.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a food applications lab, flavorist lab, production, or related area for candidates with a Ph.D.
- Project management skills with experience developing relationships across all departments.
- Work with customers and provide technical solutions, engaging the correct technical team.
- Experience supervising and managing technical teams, providing guidance for their knowledge and skill development.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to both company partners and customers.
Technical Requirements:
- Proficient in using flavor creation software and applications, such as Flavour Vision, Genesis, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of food and beverage industry regulations, including FDA and EU regulations.
- Familiarity with sensory evaluation techniques and methodologies.
- Experience conducting stability and shelf-life studies for food and beverage products.
- Knowledge of food processing techniques and equipment, including spray drying, extrusion, and emulsification.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques used in flavor analysis, such as GC-MS and HPLC.
- Understanding of ingredient functionality and interactions in food and beverage formulations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions.
