Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will hold a pivotal role within the Decarbonization technology development as a Product Owner for e House solutions (transportable substation) both in marine and ports market. Your primary responsibility will be the development and ownership of mechanical structures and containerization (e Housing) for high-power marine decarbonization solutions, encompassing fuel cells, batteries, and power conversion systems. On a day-to-day basis, you will serve as the initial point of contact for technical inquiries pertaining to these solutions. Leveraging your technical expertise in mechanical and thermal engineering, you will spearhead related development tasks, manage documentation, coordinate with suppliers, and support in bidding processes. You will work in close collaboration with our product management, engineering, supply chain management, and sales support teams. Ideal candidate is located in Europe (Finland, Norway, Czech, Netherlands or Italy). The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the Marine & Ports division, Business Line Service & Digital. You will be mainly accountable for: Designing and maintaining e House (transportable substation) solutions for marine decarbonization products. Owning the requirements to meet the product demands, making sure that the features developed within the R&D are in line with the identified needs from the market. Monitoring and coordinating development work of 3rd party suppliers, ensuring the deliverables meet the needs and quality requirements of ABB. Working directly on development tasks, providing technical know-how, coordinating with other re-sources and creating high quality products within the defined schedules and budgets. Acting as a technical point of contact to global sales support and engineering teams within ABB.Qualifications for the role
- Degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering.
- Possess a broad technical knowledge.
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in in heat transfer concepts to ensure efficient heat management within the e Houses.
- Skillful in utilizing CAD software for designing and visualizing the product structure, internal components, and overall layout.
- On a personal level, you should be open-minded and consistently strive to comprehend customer requirements, aiming to find optimal solutions based on our unique concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a helpful and service-oriented attitude, as you will collaborate closely with others.
- You have an analytical mindset and ability to make informed decisions regarding technical solutions.
- Willingness to travel (~30 – 40 days / year).
- The following, would be an additional advantage:
- Familiar with marine classification rules.
- Experience in electrical systems such as power converters, switchgear and transformers.
- Experience in green energy and power sources such as fuel cells, battery energy storages and hydrogen.
