Within Munich Re Group, Reinsurance Accounting provides reliable accounting information to internal and external stakeholders. Our recently established IFRS 17 Cross-Functions team in Reinsurance Accounting is responsible for the IFRS 17 data management for our Property & Casualty and Life & Health business globally. The unit interfaces with experts in several accounting, actuarial and controlling functions worldwide. We are coordinating Group-wide IFRS 17 closing and reporting activities. As first point of contact, the team resolves technical questions, applies quality assurance of data and ensures timely and accurate end-to-end processing. The department carries the product ownership for IFRS 17 relevant system components (SAS- and SAP-based) and manages the respective requirements to develop our system landscape.

Your Job

• Central coordination point for IFRS 17 quarter close activities centrally and with the international organization;communicate and collect closing deliverables and sign offs
• Planning and coordination of Actuals data loads; monitoring completeness and consistency of data during all processing steps across various systems

• Identifying issues in the IFRS 17 chain and assisting in solving these issues (quality assurance)

• Assisting the data management team in setting up a fully automated IFRS 17 closing monitoring and process monitoring process

• Supporting the development of automated regression testing in the IFRS 17 environment

• Escalation of issues that lead to qualitative limitations or time delays

• Assisting in meeting audit requirements

• Coordination with IT of central and decentral data deliveries including coordination of respective data and inter-face changes

• Assuming leadership and responsibility for specific topics

Your Profile

• Studied business administration, economics, information technologies, mathematics or a degree in insurance business administration with min. 2 years of experience in accounting and reporting, preferably in a multi-GAAP environment

• Good understanding of data processing, data analytics and data management

• Strong communication skills and ability to interact in a project setup within the reinsurance group

• Excellent command of English; German language skills are an advantage

• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills

• Willingness to accept and implement challenging topics in a dynamic environment as well as interest in participating in setting up a new team

• Accounting and/or actuarial expertise in insurance/reinsurance (specific IFRS 17 experience is a plus)

• Power BI

• SQL

• Azure Dev Ops is a plus

• SAS, SAP HANA, SAP BW, Appian or SAP Analytics Cloud is a plus
