Data Governance Lead

We are now looking for a talented Data & Analytics Governance Lead to take part of this transformation journey and achieve our ambition. You will act as a key driver for the development of a Cross-Portfolio Data Governance framework (Retail and Office, to start with), as well as key Data Analytics products and services for HK Retail Marketing.
- Support Head of Data Analytics & Insights to design and develop a data governance framework covering Data Ownership, Critical Data Elements and Data Quality among other aspects
- Assist with the identification of data owners and stewards and ensure adoption of the framework
- Support business units throughout their data management and governance maturity journey
- Define the scope of the data that will be under the governance framework with the priority on Critical Data Elements
- Ensure standards and policies are defined for Critical Data Elements
- Work with business stakeholders to identify and facilitate the production of Data Quality Rules and Data Quality Reporting
- Identify processes that generate data quality issues and provide analysis and recommendations
- Responsible for leading the identification, recording and remediation of data quality issues
- Review and drive process improvement and adoption of data lifecycle management technology to improve data quality and alignment on data access right control as well as data usage with business stakeholders
- Provide support as required on data management and quality related projects such as, but not limited to data ingestion, data cleansing, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or related field.
- Understanding of key concepts such as Data Catalog, ETL, Data Quality and MDM
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with at least 3 years of direct experience in a Data Analytics/Data Management/Data Governance or prior experience as a Business Analyst working alongside data teams.
- Methodological with strong attention to detail, and demonstrates experience in developing processes that meet business needs
- Strong knowledge of the data lifecycle management technology / digital customer experience industry landscape, trends tools and techniques preferred
- Strong analytical skills and ability to produce data insights out of large datasets
- Ability to use data analytics / visualisation tools (SQL, Power BI…) is an advantage
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build consensus
- Excellent problem solving, communication/presentation skills to translate business needs into a data solution
