Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 15 electronics category buyers, managers, project leaders, and data analysts based in Dongguan and Hong Kong.
- Cultivate regular relationships with key component manufacturers and distributors, while maintaining positive interactions with the TTI sourcing team for PCBAs.
- Oversee purchasing activities to ensure supply continuity, growth potential, and profitability across all TTI business units.
- Collaborate with Asia-based supply chain, engineering, and marketing teams to consolidate production and new product development (NPD) forecasts, ensuring high fill rates and delivery metrics.
- Communicate routinely with component manufacturers, distributors, and PCBA contract manufacturers to validate inventory buffers, forecasts, and backlogs, adjusting supply as needed.
- Consolidate and report monthly metrics on spending, purchase price variance (PPV), inventory, contract status, and other critical issues for escalation to senior management.
- Manage the existing electronics supplier base through regular interactions and identify new high-potential suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement in key metrics, including cost reduction/PPV, lead time, service levels, quality (DPPM), payment terms, and inventory management.
- Support new product development by collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Finance, to facilitate successful product launches.
- Assist in creating and enforcing global category strategies, identifying potential partnerships, and strengthening existing relationships.
- Lead digital integration projects to automate data collection and improve information flow among contract manufacturers, distributors, and component manufacturers.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Management, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience sourcing electronic or high-mix technical components.
- Experience managing teams based in PRC and/or Hong Kong.
- Background in electrical engineering or experience in the semiconductor industry is ideal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven recommendations that align with business strategy.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet (Excel) and presentation (Power Point) software, including the capability to create and present executive-level summaries and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for Manager or Senior Manager positions.
