Overview:
The Head of OSL Digital Securities will oversee the overall trading, market activities, and operational management within the cryptocurrency and digital assets space, ensuring both regulatory compliance and business growth. This individual will be a Responsible Officer (RO) holding a Type 7 SFC license, with a strong background in investment banking, including extensive experience in trading, liquidity management, risk management, and sales oversight. He/She will ensure smooth operational management while driving strategic market initiatives, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Leadership & Governance
- Set and implement goals and objectives aligned with both the business strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Lead executive committee meetings and ensure seamless communication across departments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners.
- Provide guidance on new products, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and market opportunities.
II. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory obligations, including those related to market-making, trading, and licensed activities.
- Oversee regulatory capital requirements and ensure the firm meets all financial and operational demands.
- Establish robust risk management processes to assess, mitigate, and monitor risks related to liquidity, trading, and sales operations.
- Review and approve key compliance reports, including regulatory audits and AML/KYC escalations.
III. Trading, Execution & Liquidity Management
- Oversee liquidity management frameworks and optimize trading strategies for execution efficiency.
- Manage electronic trading systems and ensure best execution practices across platforms, minimizing transaction costs.
- Develop risk management protocols specific to trading activities, adjusting risk limits in line with market conditions.
- Monitor capital utilization across trading operations to maximize returns while managing exposure effectively.
IV. Sales & Client Management
- Provide oversight and management of sales teams, ensuring strong client relationships and smooth operational processes.
- Lead initiatives to improve client onboarding and product distribution strategies.
- Collaborate with key internal teams, such as product development, to ensure regulatory compliance and market demand alignment.
- Build relationships with liquidity providers, market makers, and banking institutions to enhance trading capabilities and market access.
- Engage with product issuers to develop and implement effective distribution models for financial products, ensuring alignment with sales and risk objectives.
Qualifications:
- Responsible Officer (RO) with a Type 7 SFC License.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in investment banking, with a focus on trading, risk management, and sales.
- Proven track record in managing liquidity, capital deployment, and regulatory capital requirements, ideally within cryptocurrency or digital asset markets.
- Strong understanding of trading systems, electronic platforms, and liquidity management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and committees.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; advanced degrees (MBA or Master’s) preferred.
