Resident Assistant ($16-18K/month/Tammar)

Requirement:
i. Has a bachelor's degree from a university of Hong Kong or equivalent;

ii. Has Level 2/Grade E' or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination or in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;

iii. Has at least one year relevant work experience in warehouse and logistics management, stock keeping or data preparation, experience in accessioning of historical artefacts or arts objects in museums, cultural institutions or collection stores is preferred;

iv. Able to communicate in Cantonese and simple English;

V. Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, e.g. MS Word, MS Excel;

vi. Familiar with Chinese data input methods Cangjie (倉頡) or Sucheng (速成) or Pinyin (拼音);

vii. Familiar with the use of digital camera and simple photos editing; and

viii. Patient, careful and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Duties:
a. To arrange archaeological artefacts (at least 300 items each month) for data preparation and checking, moving and shelving of heavy objects will be involved;

b. To prepare data such as written description, dimension, weight and digital images of archaeological artefacts (at least 300 items each month);

c. To input and check the data onto the Hong Kong Archaeological Archive System

("HKAAS") (at least 300 items each month);

d. To generate new collection report from the HKAAS by the end of each month;

e. To update and check the inventory taking records of artefacts (at least 150 items each month);

f. To perform store management duties at venue (a) to (f) listed in Clause 3.10, e.g. checking of storage facilities, monitoring and taking photo records of repair and maintenance services provided by other departments/contractors, tidying up the stores and assist in surprise inspection which involve moving and shelving of heavy objects;

g. To assist in maintaining the display of the archaeological artefacts at venue (h) listed in Clause 3.10 on average once a week, e.g. counting and checking the artefacts, opening and closing the display cabinets, securing the artefacts in their proper position, dusting and cleaning of the display cabinets;

h. To perform any other clerical duties, e.g. filing, photocopying, scanning, printing, binding and/or delivery of documents, answering the door, venue setting for meetings; and

i. To assist in the organisation of education activities as and when required, e.g. preparing educational and publicity materials, organising and running of workshops.
