The Organization

Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG) is a nature conservation and education centre that spreads over 148 hectares of land on the northern slopes of Tai Mo Shan, Hong Kong's highest mountain. It lies in a valley, with a stream running down through the diverse (sub)tropical forest. You can find theme gardens, greenhouses, vegetable, and fruit terraces, walking trails, and public education displays of plants and animals, whilst the largest part of the estate is managed as a nature reserve.
Our team consists of educators, ecologists, botanists, zoologists, conservation officers, spatial analysts, veterinarians, wildlife rehabilitators, animal keepers, geneticists, arborists, horticulturists, gardeners, farmers, communicators and marketeers. Lessons learnt from hundreds of projects and initiatives are used to raise awareness, educate the public and catalyse behaviour change to protect nature and the environment.
With more than half of the century serving Hong Kong dedicatedly, KFBG has been evolving focuses and now striving to harmonize humanity’s relationship with nature through 3 core aspects: Nature Conservation, Holistic Education, and Sustainable Living.
We are looking for a Senior Wildlife Rehabilitation Supervisor who aligns with our vision and value and to be passionate to join the organisation to help making a difference.

Major responsibilities

This is an individual contributor role. The incumbent will report to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Officer.

To ensure the smooth running of all operations in compliance with the relevant standard procedures and husbandry guidelines.
Responsible for the health and well-being of all animals and the integrity of housing and enclosures
Maintain a good standard of husbandry
Diet preparation and feed all animals according to dietary guidelines and feeding schedules
Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all enclosures and surrounding areas at all times
Monitor health of animals and report observations to Vet Staff
Conduct pre-release training schedule according to instructions
To cover allocated WRS and AWRO responsibilities when supervisors are absent
To monitor feed and supplies
To report problems/ issues to the relevant sections.
maintenance repairs
General purchase
To assist with the training of new staff and volunteers.
To deal with public enquiries on cases under care

Job Requirements
At least 5 years’ relevant working experience, with hands-on experience in animal husbandry
Solid supervisory experience preferred
Holding qualifications in biological science, animal husbandry or related subjects will be an advantage.
Demonstrated enthusiasm regarding conservation and animal care issues.
Confident in public speaking, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
Computer Literacy (Excel, Word, Publisher & Power Point etc.)
Preferably bilingual in both written and spoken Cantonese and English, Mandarin will be an advantage.
Physically fit to work in an outdoor environment and in adverse weather.
Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
Able to work independently and work in a team.
