Temporary Customer Service Officer (4 months’ contract)

(a) have attained Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note 1), or equivalent; or Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (Note 2), or equivalent; and
(b) be fluent in English and Cantonese, fluency in Putonghua is an advantage.
Continuous employment will be given to those who pass the post-training assessments.
(2) ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 3’ and ‘Level 2’ respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
A Temporary Customer Service Officer is required to handle enquiries and complaints from the public through phone, email, etc. He/She manages calls and enquiries from all walks of life every day. This is surely a unique and challenging work experience! The post-holder is required to work on shifts, most likely in the daytime (from 9:00am to 6:00pm). The post may be required to work as scheduled in the event of inclement weather such as during typhoons and black rainstorms. Successful candidate are required to assume duty at short notice and are subject to deployment to the 1823 offices in Yau Ma Tei or Cheung Sha Wan.

(g) Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications. They should submit copies of their official transcripts and certificates by mail to the below enquiry address.
(h) If candidates fail to provide all information requested in the recruitment advertisement, their applications will not be considered.

(k) The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Applicants who apply for Government jobs advertised on or after 26 July 2023 should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If applicants submit the old version form (G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If applicants fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
