Job Title: Mid-Level Designer - Design System Team

Location: Budapest, Hungary.

Our Design System Team plays a crucial role in ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across our products. We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Designer who is passionate about design systems and eager to contribute to our growing team.

Position Overview:

As a Mid-Level Designer on our Design System Team, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and evolving our design system components, guidelines, and documentation. You will collaborate closely with product designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that our design system is user-friendly and meets the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design System Development:

Create and refine design system components (UI elements, patterns, and templates) that are visually appealing, functional, and accessible.

Collaborate with the team to establish and maintain design guidelines, best practices, and documentation.

2. Collaboration:

Work closely with product designers to ensure consistent application of the design system across various products and platforms.

Partner with developers to ensure seamless implementation of design components and adherence to coding standards.

3. User-Centric Approach:

Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback on design system components and iterate based on findings.

Advocate for user-centered design principles and accessibility best practices throughout the design process.

4. Visual Design:

Contribute to the overall visual language of the design system, ensuring alignment with branding and user experience objectives.

Create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and visual assets as needed.

5. Quality Assurance:

Review and audit existing components for consistency, usability, and adherence to design standards.

Provide constructive feedback to team members and collaborate on design critiques.

6. Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to design systems and share insights with the team.

Identify opportunities for improving the design process, tools, and workflows within the design system.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

3+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a focus on design systems.

Proficiency in design tools, Figma is our current tool of choice.

Strong understanding of design principles, user-centered design, and accessibility standards.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers and developers.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale effectively.

A portfolio showcasing your design work, with a focus on design systems and UI components.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with design tokens, style guides, and component libraries.

Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, Java Script) and tools like Storybook.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an iterative design process.
