Job Purpose

Assist superior in formulation of safety plan, safety procedures, and guidelines and to coordinate and monitor implementation. To assist superior in fulfillment of the statutory obligation and prevention of personal injuries, loss of property and equipment in order to maintain safe working environment.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Job Context: Dalla Cement Works (DLCW); a flagship unit of Ultratech Cement Ltd. (UTCL), is located around 120 km from Varanasi on Varanasi â€“ Pipari SH-5 on the southern bank of river Sone. The unit started with an old unit K4 of 0.5 MTPA of clinker. The journey of excellence with technological Up gradation resulted in two units (Line-4 & 5) with ultimate capacity of 2.0 MTPA Clinker and 0.5 MTPA cement production. The unit produces Gray Cement & Clinker.
Unit has certified for Integrated Management System & upgraded to 2015 version; which has inclusion of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001 & OHSAS 18001.
Dalla Cement Works has won several accolades at the national and international level for its Quality, Environment, Safety & Productivity. Dalla Cement is bagged with many awards. Some of them are Greentech award for best environment practices, National Safety Award by the Ministry of Labour & Employment (Govt. of India) , Three National Energy Awards i.e. First National Energy Conservation Award-2011 organized by Ministry of Power (Govt. of India) &BEE; second - Energy Efficient Unit National Award for Excellence in Energy Management-2012 organized by CII and third â€“ Energy Excellence Award in Energy Management 2013 organized by CII

KRA1

Assist superior in Safety Implementation: Ensure implementation of safe working practices in the plant to achieve zero accident goals. Ensure proper implementation of work permit system. Regular safety inspection at Plant, Mines & TPP

a) Participation in department meeting and emphasis on use of PPE
b) Generate and review of reports and analysis of accidents
c) Feedback to Departmental Heads on monitoring the implementation of the action points related to safety

KRA2

Assist superior in Safety awareness and promotion: Conduct programs related to safety in order to motivate employees and improve safety in the unit

a) Display boards, posters, slogans
b) Administrate Safety pledge on safety day involving employees
c) Safety competition â€“ Essays, Slogan, Posters etc. for employees and for school children
d) Arrange and conduct safety awareness campaigns safety awareness through online

KRA3

Assist Superior in Development of Safety Procedure: Investigation and analysis of accidents to develop improved safe working practices in the unit. Preparation of contractor safety manual and its through implementation. Ensure display of safe operating procedure / instructions near equipmentâ€™s

a) Listing activities of operations in coordination with departmental people
b) Identifying hazards and risk analysis
c) Implement Counter-measures for hazards / risks
d) Investigate and analysis causes of accidents and type of injuries
e) Preparation of Safety Budget

KRA4

Assist Superior in Statutory Compliance: Coordinate for compliance of statutory requirements pertaining to safety rules and regulations with Factory Inspectorate

a) Arrange coordinate for safety committee meeting
b) Inspection of equipment as per safety norms e.g. lifts, hoist, cranes stability etc.
c) Coordinate departmental accident reports and send to statutory authority
d) Conduct mock drills to check onsite emergency preparedness

KRA5

Safety & Health related areas under OHSAS 18001 and MIS and WCM related areas

a) Identification of Hazards
b) Analyze risks related to operational and maintenance activities
c) Coordination with various departments for implementation of corrective action on Audit Observation
d) Act as a coordinator of WCM & ISO.
e) SO & A Subcommittee Member

KRA6

Design and conduct safety training program me for employees and associates

a) Conduct regular class room safety training
b) Conduct on the job safety training specially for contract labour
c) Safety training for supplier and vendors

KRA7

Standardization, procurement and inspection of personal protective equipment

a) Ensure a standard of personal protective equipment
b) Inspection of Personal Protective Equipment to ensure quality

Qualifications:

DXPF3.Bachelor of Engineering,Diploma,MASTERE EN LOGIST INDUSTRIELLE

Minimum Experience Level:
5-8 Years
