Senior Engineering Manager - Fullstack - XR

We specialize in creating solutions in AR, VR and AI, with some of our notable products such as Jio Glass, Jio Dive, 360 Streaming, Metaverse, AR/VR headsets for consumers and enterprise space.
About the Job
The Senior Engineering Manager position leads engineers across levels of diverse groups of people who are moving towards realizing Tesseract’s vision. You will lead a team of full-stack engineers in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development lifecycle, ensuring the timely delivery of projects, and mentoring engineers to grow their technical skills. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in both frontend and backend technologies, alongside excellent leadership and project management skills.
What You’ll Be Doing

Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of full-stack developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and direction, ensuring best practices in code quality, architecture, and scalability.
- Identify growth opportunities for team members and help them develop their skills through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
- Create clear career paths for team members to help them grow with regular and deep mentoring, attract and retain top talent keeping long term goals in mind

Project Management
- Own the planning and execution of full-stack development projects, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining the quality of work
- Accountable for the overall delivery for the product / application - ensuring quality of code and adherence to committed timelines.

Architecture and Development
- Oversee the architecture and design of both frontend and backend components of web applications
- Drive the development of scalable, maintainable, and efficient full-stack solutions using modern technologies.
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
- Work as a member of an Agile Software Development Team to help implement new functionality based on business requirements.

Collaboration and Communication
- Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments, facilitating clear communication of progress, risks, and dependencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features that meet business and customer needs.
- Ensure smooth integration of frontend and backend components to deliver a seamless user experience.

Process Optimization
- Implement and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to optimize team productivity and project efficiency.
- Ensure the team follows Agile development principles, including regular sprints, standups, and retrospectives.
- Monitor and improve the performance, scalability, and security of full-stack applications.

Technical Innovation
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, ensuring the team adopts modern tools and frameworks.
- Advocate for and lead the adoption of new technologies and practices where appropriate.
- Champion continuous learning and encourage experimentation within the team.
What We Need To See
- Experience in building cutting edge products and in people management
- Experience in full-stack or application developer
- Experience on building cloud service in MEAN/MERN stack using microservices.
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
- Certified Scrum Master and Agile Development Experience.
- Good understanding of technology and architecture in a highly scalable and available setup
- Strong experience handling workflows and scheduling, building pluggable frameworks and systems, strong abstraction, and design skills.
- Proven track record of delivering products with high quality, familiarity with multiple software development practices and tools
- Strong partnership with product and business teams that demonstrates effective collaboration and communication across multiple stakeholder
- Ability to work in dynamic, fast paced and high pressure environment
- Excellent liaison, relationship skills (to collaborate with and support technology/business partners)
