The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business, and across the Local Authority user base.


The IT-OT (Operational Technology) team houses the Operational Technology skills necessary to ensure the implementation and availability of all ITOT applications and infrastructure, including hardware, networks, data centre and disaster recovery. The IT-OT team plan and manage technical OT projects to renew and update the underlying OT infrastructure and safeguard UÉ OT systems by implementing robust security standards such as the Network and Information Systems Directive. The team play a critical role in the operation, integration and connectivity of systems such as the the National Telemetry System, Leakage Management System, Operational Data Store and Enterprise Data Historian . The team manages and maintains these systems as befitting UÉ designation as an Operator of Essential Services.


Reporting to the IT-OT Networks Lead, the IT-OT Networks Analyst will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of secure and efficient network infrastructures within Uisce Éireann.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the management of the IT-OT network team to ensure efficient network operations and seamless communication between different systems
• Evaluate IT-OT network vulnerability and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect data
• Ensure the reliability and availability of IT-OT systems by implementing best practices and standards
• Support the implementation and maintenance of robust security measures to protect the system and maintain availability
• Design, implement and maintain secure and reliable IT-OT network infrastructures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business to understand their network requirements and implement network strategies to ensure alignment with UÉ objectives
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks and troubleshoot network related issues to minimise errors and down time
• Involvement in the review of new network service changes and signing off against acceptance and quality assurance criteria
• As part of the overall IT-OT Support Model Resolver Group network, support in day to day network issues and resolution of incidents and tickets raised, acting as an escalation point, taking ownership through to resolution
• Ensure that the network infrastructure complies with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Stay up to date with industry trends and nest practices in network management and security
• Support in driving compliance with cybersecurity compliance requirements and best practice in line with the Network and Information Systems Directive (e.g: NIST Controls, CIS Hardening, IEC 62443 etc)
• Assist in the implementation of the Uisce Éireann Telemetry Strategy as a key contributor for Uisce Éireann IT, Asset Operations and Asset Management through the Telemetry Programme’s work streams
• Support in management of IT-OT legacy systems as required
• Participation in On Call Rota and flexibility for out of hours work as required

• Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards
• Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives
Other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Experience in an IT or OT networks operations management role is desirable
• Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
• Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
• Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
• Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
• Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
