Job Purpose

We are seeking an IT Application Support Analyst to join our Applications team and be part of the IT function responsible for the support, maintenance and development of all power systems related applications across the Eir Grid Group, the SEM wholesale Electricity Market platform and all Group-Wide Enterprise solutions.

Your role will involve assisting with developing tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability aligned to the business strategy, while analysing business user requirements, protocols, procedures and problems to automate or enhance application functionality.

The role will see you liaise with external support partners, building relationships to assist and support, in real-time, the troubleshooting of incidents providing subject matter expertise across the application area portfolio with a requirement to join an out of hours support rota for critical systems within your area.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• An IT degree or equivalent with 3 plus years of proven applications support experience
• Experience of working in a complex, challenging environment with critical systems
• Strong technical skills and knowledge around analysis, testing, design, release and support
• Excellent decision-making skills and an ability to prioritise tasks
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide his/her own work under minimal supervision.
• Extensive experience of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with both support partners and internal stakeholders while working collaboratively across each area
• Experience of delivering support to systems within a highly available and regulated environment, preferably the utilities sector
• Experience working with Microsoft Share Point and Power Apps
• Working knowledge of change and incident management
• Understanding of ITIL and best-practice service delivery methods
• Working knowledge of SQL.
