We are currently seeking applications for a Quality Assistant to join our Quality Department.
About the Company:
ALS Minerals is internationally recognised as the global leader in providing geochemical sample preparation, analytical procedures, and data management solutions, with its European hub lab based in Loughrea, Co. Galway.
Duties / Responsibilities: Assist the Quality Manager with:

Monitoring of the quality system and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025:2017 and INAB requirements.
Ensuring that the quality manual, quality policies and quality procedures are implemented and maintained and are in accordance with ISO 17025:2017 requirements.
Ensuring that the most up to date revision of the quality manual, quality policies and procedures are being used in the laboratory and that any amendments are shared with all staff.
Training and developing the organization to understand the requirements of ISO17025:2017 standard.
Developing, implementing, distributing, reviewing and maintaining quality records, forms and worksheets.
Evaluating quality control data which is checked for accuracy/trends and any non-conformity.
Carrying out risk assessments on the risks associated with the test methods. Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve the test methods.
Routine calibration, performance checks and maintenance of the relevant records.
If required, arrange for maintenance tasks by liaising with the Department Manager and/or Maintenance team.
If required, arrange for repair or replacement of faulty of damaged equipment by liaising with the Department Manager and/or Maintenance team.
Ensuring that internal audits are carried out and completed in a timely manner and that any corrective actions required are followed up and completed within an agreed time frame.
Managing the assignment of client quality enquiries and investigations and log all incidents to the GEMS portal.
Ensuring timely, technically relevant responses are supplied to client while proactively managing escalations.
Assisting with the completion of associated corrective actions with the assistance of appropriate departments and managers in a timely manner.
Assisting with non-conformances, addressing risks and opportunities, and implementing corrective actions.
Assisting with the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
Assisting with Stock control of Standard Reference Materials.
Evaluating quality control data and trends from GEMS.
Maintaining training records and logging staff training records to TMS software.

Qualification & Training:
University degree in an appropriate science discipline with subsequent on the job training.
Experience & Expertise:
Laboratory experience preferred including experience in implementing and maintaining quality management system ISO17025:2017.
