Would you like to create engaging and innovative content for RTÉ Radio 1? The station is looking for experienced radio producers with excellent editorial instincts, for several fixed-purpose vacancies.

As an RTÉ Radio Producer you will be part of a diverse, skilled and creative team to produce programmes of the highest national and international standard, across a wide range of disciplines. You will have direct responsibility for the creation, development and production of innovative content for Radio 1.

The Radio Producer role requires exceptional editorial judgement, a strong sense of audience and an understanding of RTÉ’s remit and purpose, as well as having strong creative flair and imagination.

Applicants should possess the following:

• A record in the development of creative content of public interest, from idea to execution
• Significant experience of decision-making in a radio environment
• Evidence of an ability to inspire and be a part of a creative team in a live, pressured setting
• A good knowledge of digital audio platforms, formats and social media
• Proof of excellent judgement and the capacity to influence, lead and manage a team

Reporting to the Station Head or their designate, the Radio Producer has editorial control of the content and delivery of programming and must produce those programmes in line with sound legal and editorial principles.

Applicants should be familiar with the Radio 1 schedule and should have ideas on how to grow audiences, bring new voices and content to our programmes and help us repurpose our content on social media. Excellent general knowledge is expected as the Radio Producer role will cover areas such as Current Affairs, Arts & Culture, Sport, Music & Entertainment, and Social Issues, and as such experience and knowledge of any of these areas will be an advantage.

A high standard in spoken and written Irish will also be an advantage.

Contracts will be offered on a full-time fixed purpose basis to cover a number of short term vacancies. The Radio Producer salary scale is from €53,057 pa to €83,091 gross per annum.
