Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and clients. This role is essential for maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety within our organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Develop, implement, and manage health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
- Training: Conduct safety training sessions for employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and practices.
- Inspections: Regularly inspect work sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and inspections, and prepare reports for management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Previous experience in a health and safety role, preferably in the construction or scaffolding industry.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
