RINA is currently recruiting for a Internship - Certification Analyst UNI/PDR 125:2022 to join its office in Rome within the Certification Compliance & Technical Support Division.
Mission
The training will be focused on activities regarding the Certification Scheme Leader role: he/she ensures that products, services, or systems meet the necessary International, National and European Union (EU) or Accreditation Body or Certification Body or industry safety and conformity requirements.
A junior Certification Scheme Leader, often in a position like an Associate or Assistant Scheme Manager, typically works under the supervision and mentorship of a senior Certification Scheme Leader / Certification Scheme Leader.

Key Accountabilities
The intern will be trained on the following activities:
1. Regulatory Compliance: UNI/PDR 125:2022
  • Gain a deep understanding of industry-specific regulations, standards, and guidelines relevant to the certification scheme.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in the industry.
2. Scheme Development and Management:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of certification schemes. Help define criteria and procedures for certifying products, services, or systems.
3. Assessment and Auditing:
  • Support the assessment and auditing process by assisting in evaluating applications, participating in on-site inspections, and reviewing technical documentation.
  • Learn how to work collaboratively with stakeholders during assessments.
4. Documentation Review:
  • Help ensure that applicants submit all required documentation, test reports, and technical files for certification.
  • Assist in verifying the accuracy and completeness of these documents.
5. Certification Decision-Making:
  • Assist in making certification decisions by contributing to assessments and audits.
  • Participate in the evaluation of whether products, services, or systems meet the necessary standards for certification.
6. Quality Control:
  • Participate in quality control efforts to ensure the consistency and integrity of the certification process.
  • Learn how to monitor and improve the quality of assessments and audits.
7. Customer Relations:
  • Interact with clients and applicants, answer inquiries, and provide guidance on certification requirements.
  • Gain experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships.
8. Market Surveillance and Compliance Monitoring:
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues and regulatory bodies to conduct market surveillance and compliance monitoring to identify non-compliant products or services.
9. Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the certification scheme, processes, and procedures. Learn to identify areas for enhancement and efficiency.
10. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed records and reports related to product certifications, audits, and compliance activities. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies.
11. Risk Awareness:
  • Develop an understanding of the risks associated with non-compliant products or services. Assist in identifying and addressing these risks and developing mitigation strategies.
12. Industry Collaboration:
  • Attend industry meetings, conferences, and discussions to become acquainted with industry developments and establish connections with stakeholders.
13. Data Management:
  • Maintain and organize records and reports related to certification activities, audits, and compliance efforts. Prepare reports as directed by senior leaders.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or Sociology
